Enarotali, administrative center of the Wissel Lakes subdivision, lies at a height of 5,675 feet. Here
it can be extremely cold at times.
The first administrative establishment in the central mountain region
was set up here in 1938. After the war Enarotali became the center for this area of the American Mission,
the Christian and Missionary Alliance. There is also a mission post of the Franciscan Fathers.
The KLM Royal Dutch Air Lines maintain a weekly service from Enarotali to Biak.
